Nerf Digital Camcorder (review)

True to traditional Nerf design the Sakar Nerf Digital Camcorder features the same bright orange motif you remember from the early 90s! This budget-friendly video camera also sports a rubberized grip to keep it safely in hand. The camera records at 640 x 480 resolution, features a 1.8" LCD for composition and review of videos, and has a built-in light for recording in low-light. SD memory cards up to 32GB fit in the camera. Photo editing software is included for work in post-production.

The battery door kept sliding open and it kept powering down, so I didn't get to test it too much for too long at first. Kinda had to hold it shut with one hand. After a little begging and pleading with it, it finally agreed to shut for me. It's a tough one. The image quality isn't all that- but then it is a NERF camera for kids, and it is rather cheap, so wasn't expecting too much. You don't really hand a little kid an amazing megapixel expensive camera anyway-- at least.. I wouldn"t I think that it sucks that I had to go to the store and buy batteries and a crad for it. I wish it came with a card, after all they are super cheap nowadays..

Would probably not buy this nerf video camera again! Even though it was very simple to use--only wish it could be charged--go through batteries VERY quickly but it is worth it to watch my 6 year old "make movies". If you are looking for high quality then this is not the video cam for you--if you are looking for a good camera that you don't mind if your child drop's it then this is what you are looking for. It allows you to take videos to upload for YouTube and says that on it's Menu. Once you hook it up, you can directly uploiad to Photobucket, Flickr and YouTube. Which is great for an older kid, but I really wouldn't want Giana to be doing that since she is only 6. Good thing she doesn't have her own computer, or know how to do that. The built in flash is a bright blue-ish LED light and it's OK. I like the fact that it has pop-out USB plug, but it's sort - of awkward to plug into my Dell Zino, which is a TINY tiny little desktop. See images below

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Honestly... it's not even close to NERF related, despite the colors used and the name being the only things that even resemble each other, but Giana thinks it's cool, and she is tickled by the little noises it makes when you turn it on/power it off/unplug from the computer ect etc.
I could see this camera being useful if it was shockproof / durable enough to take a beating.
Otherwise it is just a kids camera, which for the price is good enough.
However- I like my FUJIfilm 14 megapixel Finepix. But sadly, even though it has an amzing zoom, it runs on batteries too. I just goit smart and bought rechargable ones is all. So Gigi likes the camera.
This 2.1 megapixel digital camera comes with a 1.5 inch LCD preview screen and uses three AAA batteries, not included. The interface is confusing to use. Features include a flash and a digital zoom. The camera connects to your computer with the included USB cable.
The Nerf camera is available at Radio Shack for $30. From the specs it looks to be a 2mp camera, so my phone will take better pictures than it, but then my phones copsts is 599. Damn you Blackberry.

With just the click of a button, you can document your favorite memories with this Nerf Digital Camera. You can then easily download your pictures to your computer and even edit them, using the included software.
