#giveaway -- Isn't it ironic, dontcha think? Arnica Gel Review *CLOSED!*

***CLOSED!!!***
Special note to entries after #9 - this giveaway ended on the 17th, yours do not count.

Well, well, well! Where do I even begin. Some of you who regularly stay up to date with me, might know I injured myself horribly this weekend. Read about it here. But we'll get to that in a minute. For this story to make sense, you must first learn a little about my mother, Kaye.
Oh when I was little she used to BEG me to rub her back with Ben-Gay. How I hated that stuff. To do this day, I despise the smell of that stuff, and would never use it on myself, even if I had to. *Shuddering involuntarily* In fact- I despised it so much, she would go out of her way to buy the cool blue gels that didn't smell as offensive, and didn't leave a lingering scent on my hands that Dawn dish detergent couldn't wash off.

Little kid + Ben Gay + itchy eyes = disaster.

So naturally when I was offered the opportunity to review this homeopathic remedy for sprains, I used it a few times, and promptly mailed it my mom, after all- she's the one who needs it. What would I really need it for? I'm young, only 28, and I'm not a "wuss".
*psh*
Apparently I am.

Of course, the moment you give something away, throw it away, or cannot place your hands physically on it, is the one moment you need it. I could've held onto that Arnica gel for as long as need be, and might've never used it.
I am not quite sure how, but I really hurt my back this weekend, and ended up in the ER. Before I went  to ER, I tried to dull the pain with ibuprofen, and even Aleve. Nothing worked, it just kept getting worse. It got the point to where I couldn't cross my legs, lift my foot higher than 6 inches, or walk to the bathroom without help.
All those years I thought my mom was faking it? Karma just came back around to bite me. My doctor thinks I pulled a muscle in my lower back when I was picking up laundry baskets; since it was the only heavy thing I picked up this weekend.

As my husband and I stroll the aisles looking for anything that could be applied topically, and wouldn't have any menthol residue, I saw the Arnica Gel, I just gave to my mother on the shelf. So I bought it. It was the only thing I saw on the shelf that wasn't specially made to "cool" or "warm" you. I can't stand an ice bath, or even an ice pack.

I have been using the Arnica gel, along with my prescription medication. I am walking again. If it sped up my recovery, I do not know. But I much appreciated the fact that it was not "menthol" and didn't leave a lingering smell, or greasy residue. Washes off cleanly. I love that it comes in a metal tube too.
You can find it at many stores local to you, arv is around 9-10 dollars.
Of course, my favorite part is it absorbs quickly and is odorless!

You would find it helpful to know that not only is it supposed to help with sprains and sore muscles, but it also helps with bruises. My back is not bruised, although it feels like from one hip to the other it should be! This product does not claim to be a cure, but it does provide sufficient temporary relief, especially for those who work out a lot.
(Like me! .. though I won't be going anytime soon unfortunately.)

Whether you’re getting ready to hit the slopes, shovel snow, or lug in a cord of wood, it’s probably been nearly a year since your body performed such strenuous wintertime activities, making strains, aches, pains and bruises more likely. This season, and year-round, relieve muscle pain, stiffness, swelling and bruising—instead of just masking it—and feel better faster with  Arnicare® Arnica Gel

Brought to you by Boiron, world leader in homeopathic medicines, Arnicare Gel, made from Arnica montana , works naturally to ease muscle pain and stiffness due to minor injuries and overexertion. It also works to reduce swelling and discoloration of bruises. Arnica, a mountain plant from the daisy family, has been commonly used for centuries as a natural pain reliever and is recommended today by doctors, plastic surgeons and pharmacists—and used by professional athletes—worldwide.

Since Arnica gel works naturally with your body, there’s no risk of overdose, no contraindications, no drug interactions, and no side effects when used as directed. This unscented homeopathic gel is quickly absorbed by the skin, it’s non-greasy and paraben-free, and it does not contain methyl salicylate or camphor—common ingredients found in many pain relief which can be toxic in large doses. This makes Arnicare Gel safe for the whole family.

Keep Arnicare on hand this winter, and be prepared to relieve muscle pain and stiffness as soon as it starts. Arnicare Gel can be purchased at Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid and Whole Foods, as well as independent pharmacies and health food stores. Arnicare is also available in several other forms, including cream, ointment, oral pellets and tablets.
