Oh what a tangled web we weave!

Top 5 Films Where the Characters Get in Over Their Heads

Debuting on Blu-ray & DVD on Oct. 18
At first, Grace doesn’t think she's hurting anyone by taking over the identity of Cordelia Winthrop Scott. Her and her accomplices, Emma and Meg, take full advantage of the perks until the fantasy starts to crumble and the situation gets out of control. To celebrate the debut of Monte Carlo for home entertainment on Oct. 18, we are taking a look at the top films where a small fib turns into a complicated web of lies and the characters get in over their heads!
Selena Gomez stars in Monte Carlo as Grace, a recent college graduate who is ready to live out her idea of a perfect vacation with BFF Emma (Katie Cassidy) to Paris. After several twists and turns, including her unhappy stepsister Meg (Leighton Meester) joining them on the trip, Grace falls into a fairytale of her very own in the French Riviera.

1)    She’s the Man
Viola Hastings (Amanda Bynes) is a high school soccer player at Cornwall, where the girl’s team has just been cut. After being refused to join the boy’s team, Viola decides to ask ‘Sebastian’ to join a rival school’s soccer team.  The lie eventually gets out of hand when ‘Sebastian’s’ lab partner, Olivia, develops a crush on him and concocts a plan that she thinks will get Sebastian (Viola) jealous, and tangle of crushes and confusion occurs.
2)    While You Were Sleeping
Lucy (Sandra Bullock) is a lonely token collector on the Chicago Transit Authority that has begun to fall in love with a commuter named Peter. After seeing him get pushed onto the tracks by a group of muggers, she rescues him from an oncoming train. He falls into a coma and while in the hospital Lucy says “I was going to marry him” to herself. His family overhears, and mistakes her for his fiancé. She feebly attempts to explain, but quickly becomes accepted into his family and as time goes on, telling the truth becomes more difficult. She also begins to fall in love with his brother Jack (Bill Pullman), which complicates the situation even further.
3)    Mrs. Doubtfire
After a divorce that leaves him only able to see his children once a week, Daniel (Robin Williams) sees that his ex-wife has put out an ad for a nanny. Using his skills as a voice-actor, along his brother’s make-up artistry, he answers the ad as ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ – a British housekeeper and nanny in her sixties.  During a parallel meeting with a TV exec – in his normal attire – and with his children, ex-wife and her new boyfriend – as Mrs. Doubtfire – he goes to the bathroom to change periodically so that he can be in two places at once. His double life catches up with him, but in a better way than you’d expect...
4)    Big Momma’s House
After criminal Lester Vesco escapes from jail after being imprisoned for life for murder and robbery, FBI agents John Maxwell and Malcolm Turner (Martin Lawrence) are sent to stake out the house of Hatti Mae Pierce AKA Big Momma. After Big Momma’s unexpected departure, there is a call from Sherry – Big Momma’s granddaughter and Lester’s ex-girlfriend. Malcolm decides to disguise his voice in an attempt to entrap Sherry into divulging important information. It works, so John and Malcolm work to create a costume for Malcolm to wear the next day. Malcolm is forced to live the life of an overweight southern woman; he cooks (something he is inexperienced with), deals with Big Momma’s boyfriend, attends a self-defence class for old women, and delivers a baby.
5)    Monte Carlo
While on vacation with her BFF and stepsister, Grace (Selena Gomez) is mis-identified as British heiress Cordelia Winthrop Scott who is in Monte Carlo for several important appearances. These events are leading up to a huge auction raising money for charity that the spoiled Cordelia must attend, even if Grace must pose as her for the show to go on.
