Swingset Press hearts tween girls INVITATION TO THE BEST SLUMBER PARTY EVER!!!

Award-Winning Swingset Press Creates Perfect Mix of Age-Appropriate Fun With S.T.A.R. Awardz, Acting Out, & Ultimate Truth? Or Dare!

Evergreen, CO (May 14, 2012) – Dear BFFs: You are totally invited to attend the greatest pajama party ever. My mom bought me three of the new Swingset Press pajama party games -- so get ready to get loud and stay up all night laughing!
As all the hippest moms know, the concept of a sleepover has little to do with sleep and all to do with fun. They are filled with laughs, pajamas, tons of snacks and anything can happen (except for slumber). It is quite simply, a tween girl rite of passage.
Acting Out $14.99

Being a tween is that awkward stage where you are not quite grown up and definitely not a little girl so your entertainment should be something in "between" too. Open the box of S.T.A.R. Awardz, Ultimate Truth? or Dare! or Acting Out! and get the party started on the right foot. Whether it’s a slumber party, whispered secrets in the camp bunks after lights’ out or an after-school hang-out session, all of these games are guaranteed BFF-bonding, flat-out fun. No computers or cell phones are involved or needed!

“I gave a couple of the games to the daughter of some family friends for her sleepover. Her dad called me at 11 p.m. that night to make sure I was awake. Because the girls’ raucously loud fun was keeping him awake, he thought I should be up with him!” shared game inventor Ron Solomon. “His daughter told me in detail the next week what a blast they had and that she and her friends wanted every game I invented from now on.”
Ultimate Truth or Dare $14.99

Each game is designed for children ages 7 or older and allows kids to be ... kids. In Acting Out! girls might be asked to "ACT like a supermodel in a photo shoot" and "SOUND like the bratty kid you babysit." That's not so hard ... except that you have to do them simultaneously! Acting and sounding out two completely unrelated things at the same time is incredibly hard, challenging two parts of the human brain, and the results are usually hilarious! The sheer fun of Acting Out! earned it The National Parenting Center (TNPC) 2012 Seal of Approval.

"A marvelously engaging, socially interactive game," wrote the TNPC judges about Acting Out!, "that is fun for the whole family. Many testers pointed out how this was perfectly suited for sleep-over parties. Think charades with a twist. Kids will have to think fast, be creative and stay on their toes. A prevailing opinion among parents is that this game is ideal for drawing out shy or
timid children. It is particularly great at building self-confidence, and tapping into imagination no matter who is playing. Once the laughter starts, and that is inevitable, it doesn't stop."

Playing games that bond friendships by sharing secrets, dares or laughs (without a grownup around) are what sleepovers are all about. Girls can feel secure among their best friends while expressing their day-to-day feelings, dreams and even concerns. Even the Wall Street Journal (February 8, 2012) wrote recently of the benefits of a slumber party:
Many experts say there are benefits to the sleepover, although they are hard to measure. "They provide kids with a big block of time where they are together in person without being directly supervised by an adult," says Lisa Damour, a psychologist and director of the Center for Research on Girls at the Laurel School in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Star Awardz $14.99

The three new Swingset Press games that are perfect for slumber parties or any tween gathering are:
S.T.A.R. Awardz • Ages 7+
What makes a S.T.A.R.? In this game it's anyone who can Sing, Toe-tap, Act and do something Ridiculous. Finally a pajama party game for multi-talented girls who have star qualities! You can’t be good at just one of these things to win the game, though—you have to go for it for all four types of S.T.A.R. Awardz! During the game, you’ll have to sing a song and keep its beat to impress your friends; show some fancy footwork; give an Oscar-worthy performance of your dramatic interpretation; and show your buds something rare, remarkable and downright ridiculous.Wrote one fan on the Justice store website: “this game rocks for sleepover parties and birthday parties! It's so fun if ur not shy so if ur not shy and u love being silly this is the game for you.”

Game comes with spinner, star-shaped cards, a timer and set of 75 Challenge cards. If your BFFs applaud you, you’ll take home all four S.T.A.R Awardz! The first to collect one of each of the four wins.
Ultimate Truth? or Dare! • Ages 7+
How would you respond to: “on a scale of 1 to 10, how cute do you think you are?” or “would you dare eat five potato chips using only your feet (eiuw!)?” At this sleepover, anticipate the most revealing, perhaps grossest and most hysterical when playing the boxed set of Ultimate Truth? of Dare! It's the Ultimate Truth? or Dare! because the choice is ultimately yours. Pass or choose, win or lose, the first BFF to reach 100 points wins. But be careful, the spinner may throw a surprise at you that might help or hurt you in the game, like the Safe Zone, that skips your turn, or the Dare Squared card that delivers two dares that you must accept on your turn.

Comes with cards, spinner and instructions for a memorable party.
Acting Out! • Ages 7+
Here's a game for girls who never get stage fright. Kids have to stop laughing long enough to guess what two challenges the player is simultaneously performing before the time runs out. A fun example for the two challenges: “ACT like an Olympic freestyle ice skater” while you pretend to “BEG your parents to raise your allowance!” The ACT cards require you to pantomime in place, jump around, use your body to do whatever it takes to make your BFFs guess what your card is. You can make noise but not with your voice. The SOUND out cards allow you to sing, squawk, or talk as loud or softly as you need to help your friends guess that card. No actions though, nor can you say words from the card!

Game includes 50 Act Out cards, 50 Sound Out cards, a score pad, mini-pencil, 60-second timer and complete rules.
Schylling Toys, specializing in classic toys that are timeless and never go out of style, distributes all three of these boxed games priced at $15. Find them now at Barnes & Noble and specialty toy and gift stores. For information on the games or to order online see http://www.schylling.com

What the kiddies thought!
THEY HAD A BLAST! Out of all the games gifted to us, the Star Awardz seemed to be the favorite amongst them!  When they were playing Acting Out - They thought it hilarious when they had to act out the tasks the cards assigned to them! They were giggling up a storm. One of the tasks was: "act like you are shopping at a mall! The next day, we went shopping at their very favorite store JUSTICE and we were surprised to find that these games were being sold there. Extra cool points for that!
The Truth or Dare game was also fun for them, but I heard a lot of "OH NO!"s from the room while they were playing that one. My niece Lynzey said, "...there were a bunch of crazy dares, and I liked it because they are dares we wouldn't normally think of, like "Eat a teaspoon of mayonnaise" Silly, right?

You want to know what I loved best? I loved the size of the boxes. For me, storage space is an issue here, and there is only ONE downstairs closet in the house. Period. End of sentence. That "closet" is my pantry. No lie. Not cute, I know. That means that I have to keep them (all the games) in the garage.
We own quite a few games, I shouldn't have any space for any more games, but these are compact and shaped different than most and fit perfectly on the shelf. Thank goodness.

These games sound really fun... almost makes me wish I was a tween girl again! ;)

I think they'd be great for some of the kids in our extended family. Star Awardz caught my eye and then I read that it was your family's favorite too.
Thanks for the review.

How awesome! These would be perfect for the after school kids program that our tribe has! There are a lot of boys and just a couple tween girls so a lot of the activities don't always suit them. They would sure have fun with some girl time!

I love that they are so age appropriate. I wouldn't have to worry about some strange questions or such that they should not be answering.

Just from viewing the few photos it is obvious that tween girls will enjoy "acting out" in a very good way.

Girls this age love slumber parties/ sleepovers. If you don't sleep, that means lots of hours to fill with other activities. These games seem very entertaining for this age set. SOunds like fun!

These games sound like a lot of fun and I like that they sound clean and appropriate for kids too. It can be hard to find tween girl activities that are age appropriate.
