Motivate Yourself To Get Fit
Motivation is not easy when it comes to getting fit, but there are several tips to follow that will help getting in shape an achievable goal.
Incorporate Team of Friends
It is important to find a support group such as friends, family members or coworkers. Your family and friends help keep you on track and will be supportive in times of weakness or when your willpower dwindles.
Make An Exercise Plan
The next thing to do is set up an exercise plan. It is wise to start out with exercise routines that are easy to do. Taking a walk after lunch everyday or taking the stairs at work instead of using the elevator or escalator is a good way to kick off an exercise program. 30-minute routines are a good starting point.
Gradually increase your routine within the next few weeks by adding 30 minutes of jogging, walking, aerobics or biking within the next three to four months. These exercises should be done at least five times a day. It is also a good idea to jog or walk with a friend, this will help keep you focused and motivated to keep on track to achieving fitness. Other fun exercises include swimming, rollerblading, tennis and kickboxing.
Exercising has wonderful health benefits and is a key motivator. Once you start your exercise programs, you will begin to look and feel better and will enjoy having more energy.
Keep A Journal
Keeping a journal or diary of your goals and posting them on the wall or at your desk, is a great motivator because you can read them everyday and stick to your exercise plan.
Use Rewards As Motivation
Rewards are also great motivators. Each time a goal is reached, treat yourself to a reward. A nice way to reward yourself is to buy a new blouse or to splurge on a new hairdo. Another great reward is going to see a movie or watch a play.
A nice healthy dinner out with your spouse is also a nice way to reward yourself for setting your goals and staying motivated. Rewards will help, but do not over do them. They do no need to be rewards awarded every week or every time a goal is met.
Eat Healthy Foods
Diet is also an important motivation for getting in shape. Healthy eating is key to a healthy body. Low calorie foods should be eaten and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to supply out body with energy when you are exercising.
Conclusion
Getting motivated to get fit is not easy, but it is achievable if you make plans, set goals and stick to them until the goal is met. You can never give up and you must keep going. Remember to set realistic goals, but do not overdo it because unrealistic goals will result in failure. Stay focused and your goals will be met.
