OUR REVIEW!

When I got the BluRay announcement for Pocahontas I know the little girl in me  let out out a little squeal of delight! I cannot tell you how much I adore the movie.
In fact, I had never (up until now) even seen the 2nd movie.  I do get annoyed at all the publicity of the other Princesses, when Pocahontas gets next to none. When we went to Disney World, I saw all of the Princesses EXCEPT Pocahontas, whom I had hoped to see!
This movie is more spectacular than we even remember from our childhood. Definitely a story to be re-told to our little ones! My daughter had never seen Pocahontas, and she fell in love with the story. Even my two year old, who cannot be bothered to sit through any movie at all, sat though most of it.
I love that the disc-set included BOTH movies, and I think on older movies like this that have a sequel, they should be sold as a set.
My daughter was (of course) fascinated by the Special Features section. Which I don't really get, but she cannot NOT look at them, and gets disappointed if they don't have interactive quizzes and games and featurettes. (LOL!)
The story of Pocahontas follows the journey of a young American Indian girl, coming into woman hood. She is being set into an arranged marriage when she falls in love with a "white face." Her chattery lovable friends are a bird (Flit) and a raccoon (Meeko) who are forever getting into trouble.
She has an old wise Grandmother of a Willow Tree, whom helps her "find her path".
The movie never gets old and the music/score is as wonderful as it ever was, but even fresher and more sharp now on BluRay. The movies have a remarkable picture and the sound is quality!
I was delighted to finally get a chance to sit down and watch Pocahontas II - especially since I got to watch it with my favorite person on Earth Giana!
She said she likes the sequel best, but I like the original the best!
I can only hope they come out with a third movie, with her and John Smith's child as the lead character.
The only thing I even have against the movie(s) is his name. It's just too common, which is the point I suppose, but also a fail. Wah-wah!
:)

If your children have yet to experience this movie, I HIGHLY recommend you get it for them, and watch it with them. It has great morals, about protecting the earth, and being a good person to others. Pocahontas the humanitarian! I love this movie, and thank you so much to Universal/Disney for sending it to me!

which is an amazing deal considering all you get with it.  It's a 3 disc BluRay DVD combo with digital download as well! :)
