OUR REVIEW of the MOVIE!

When this movie hit theater's I gotta tell you, I wasn't expecting too much. From the previews showed on TV, I assumed it would be more of a "dude-flick" I wrongly assumed a bunch of fighting scenes, and other things I don't particularly enjoy in movies. In fact- when I was in town visiting my mother, she wanted to go see it, and she begged me.. I wouldn't go. We saw Chernobyl Diaries instead (btw- that is a good movie, although I'm sure critics will slaughter it!) . My mother later went and saw Snow White and the Huntsman in 3D by herself. Now, after seeing it- I feel bad that I didn't go with her. She was right! It's a really good movie!

I am not a huge fan of Kristen Stewart. I just dislike anything Twilight, which included Rob P and Kristen S. I am so sick of hearing Twilight - the books and the movie.. I hate even speaking of it now.
Which is another reason I didn't want to see this movie. However, as much as I dislike Kristen Stewart and Twilight, she did an OK job of playing this role- I do think it could've been cast a little better. In my humble opinion, Kristen S is pretty (I guess) but the fairest in the land? She just doesn't seem to fill Snow Whites gorgeous shoes. She's kinda homely.

However- on the other hand,. Charlize Theron (whom I adore) totally nailed the part of Evil Queen! She delivers this role up on a believable silver platter!  Spectacular as she has ever been, in fact- probably even more so.

The fight scenes were not as grisly and over drawn and "too long". I gotta say - the one thing that bothered me the most was Ravenna's brother's hair. More specifically his bangs. *shuddering*.
Also, I wasn't sure if she and her brother had an incestuous relationship, if he was more than a brother to her wasn't really clear, but definitely insinuated.

I loved the scenes in the Dark Woods, it felt reminiscent of my teenage years (lol!) and very trippy. I think she ate some bad mushrooms! But all in all the special effects of the forest and the Troll more importantly- were breathtaking, realistic and captivating.

I am so impressed with this movie, I have watched it several times over the weekend. If you were like me, and assumed it is not for you- or you wouldn't like it.. you should give it a chance. It was really good.

The one thing the special effects could have been better on, was the part of the mirror. In my opinion, it wasn't really a  mirror anyway, but more rather of a brass circle on the wall. I would have made the mirror more realistic. The one thing that confused me, is the ending, not to spoil it for you, but I was glad it had a happy ending. It did leave the question unanswered about whom she chooses. I guess we are supposed to want her to choose the Huntsman, but they never say. I am to believe they will make a sequel?  Because I am almost positive the way it left off they will...
