A must See! "This Means War"! (review)

********** Our Review **********

This is one of the newer movies FOX has released to DVD recently. I gotta say, I didn't know what to expect out of this movie, but considering it had Reese Witherspoon in it, I assumed it would be good. It was not as comedic as I had assumed it would be. I have to tell you- I guessed which guy she would end up with well before the middle of the movie.

But- it was better than I thought it would be, albeit a tad bit predictable. What was absurd to me, is knowing Chelsea Handler from watching her talk show...  see, they made her married to an old weird dude, with kids- which didn't fit the bill of who we know her to be, therefore was extremely unbelievable. It is not that I do not think she can act, but more of a question of, why should she? Even if she does, I feel the part should be more "fitting" if-you-will for her real life personality. If for nothing other than to keep it believable. She is a self-proclaimed child/baby hater so it was a bit of a stretch!

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
I do think the movie ended wrong, and she picked the wrong guy. You can tell once you see the first man has a "baby's-momma" that he is going to end up with her, which should be a good ending but I was rooting for him. They show this part in one of the first few scenes, and I knew immediately that's who she wasn't going to end up with, so it spoiled it for me. Even more obvious it became- when the other guy: FDR (what kinda name is that, anyway? They shouldn't have went there!) he visited his Grandmother and took Reese's character (I can't remember her name, so it wasn't memorable.. let me go look!)
............  Oh- ok.. Lauren.. whatever- :)
...anyway, where was I? Oh yes! He takes her to visit his Grandmother and with her talking of how he's never had a girlfriend or brought one home, I knew she would pick him. I guess you are supposed to want Pine's character to get back together with his child's mother, but I kinda wanted FDR to get with her!

I loved the 3 alternate endings, and I really wish they had chosen one of those instead of what they did.
I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did!

Nice review Casey. All of these leads try their hardest, but the script just lets them down too much with terrible jokes and very ugly feeling underneath this premise. I’m still surprised to actually see this getting all of the love that it’s actually getting from critics but then again, I guess certain people don’t mind these types of movies.
