Dvd Review - The Sitter

Dvd Review - The Sitter

About the DVD

Jonah Hill Takes You Where No Babysitting Movie Has Gone Before in the Outrageously Raunchy and “Totally Irresponsible” Edition

Arriving on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download March 20th

From the director of Pineapple Express comes an adventure in babysitting that is definitely not for the entire family as Jonah Hill (21 Jump Street, Moneyball) steps in as THE SITTER, arriving on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download March 20th from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Defiant, vulgar and envelope-pushing, THE SITTER will be available in the “totally irresponsible” edition offering a hilarious and even raunchier unrated cut of the film.

When Noah (Hill), the suburban slacker, is watching the neighbor’s kid he gets a booty call from his girlfriend in the city. To hook up with her, Noah takes to the streets, but his urban adventure spins out of control as he finds himself on the run from the maniacal drug lord. Raunchy laughs and insane action – it’s all in a night’s work for The Sitter.

With hilarious supporting performances from J.B. Smoove (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”),
Ari Graynor (What’s Your Number?) and Sam Rockwell (Cowboys & Aliens), THE SITTER “totally irresponsible” edition Blu-ray is loaded with special features including an unrated cut of the film, deleted scenes, a gag reel, outtakes and three behind-the-scenes featurettes. My Take on the DVD

The Sitter is the latest in the line of American R-rated comedies that have hit our screens in the last year. It is also director David Gordon Green’s third outing in this genre (after last year’s Your Highness and 2008’s Pineapple Express). I was unimpressed with Your Highness - couldn't get into at all!

This though, much better. Like Pineapple Express though, you have young kid, running from a drug dealer who is "out to kill him" the entire movie. This movie was much raunchier than I thought it would be. There is the first scene, in which he is actually "eating out" a girl, which I would be nervous to have a child in the same house while this movie is on. Then there's a ton of foul language and the entire movie has drug reference after drug reference

This is reminiscent of Adventure's in Babysitting, only more Rated-R like movies are nowadays.

Some parts of it were super funny, and some were "no they didn't" But overall, it was well played by the director, and the actors and actresses in this film. It was a warm ending, and although predictable, I would recommend it to a friend. But probably only my friends. This film is appropriate for young adult, definitely for  more laid back people. If nudity, drug and sexual references, or foul language do not bother you, this is right up your alley!
