Los Angeles, CA (October 4, 2012) — Ahoy, matey! Blue Sky Studios unveils a brand new chapter in one of the most successful film franchises of all time. Bringing together the visually epic and the emotionally powerful, ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT sets sail on Blu-ray? 3D, Blu-ray?, and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment on December 11, just in time for the holidays.
Sub-zero heroes Manny, Diego, and Sid embark upon a high-seas adventure after their continent is set adrift. Using an iceberg as a ship, they encounter sea creatures and battle pirates as they try to reunite with their herd. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounters a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home.
Showcasing the coolest cast of all-time, ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT, stars Ray Romano (“Everybody Loves Raymond”), John Leguizamo (Moulin Rouge), Denis Leary (“Rescue Me”), Queen Latifah (The Secret Life of Bees), Seann William Scott (Planet 51), Josh Peck (“Drake & Josh”), and Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead). Joining the familiar Ice Age family for this newest franchise installment are some of the entertainment world’s brightest talents including Jennifer Lopez (“American Idol”), Aziz Ansari (“Parks and Recreation”), Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”), Wanda Sykes (Monster-in-Law), Heather Morris (“Glee”), and hip hop sensations Nicki Minaj and Drake.
Overflowing with treasure for the whole family to enjoy, ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT 3D is filled to the bow with bonus material including an all new coloring app with enhanced Blu-ray features, interactive features such as “Party with a Pirate!” mode, sing and dance along songs, music videos, deleted scenes, exclusive featurettes, and more! In addition, fans can watch the film in sign along mode with American Sign Language interpretation from actor Sean Berdy (“Switched at Birth”). Prebook is November 14.
OUR REVIEW
Ice Age doesn't disappoint in this film, same as the ones before. I know some people get annoyed by frequent sequences of movies, but I think it's neat for the kids to have a collection of their favorite films, instead of just one. I love RayRomano in the Ice Age movies, as we have seen every single movie of theirs IN Theaters. (Once on MY birthday, the last one anyway!) and even better than the fact that the characters are hilarious and relate-able is the fact that one of my favorite comedians is in this movies: Wanda Sykes..jpg)
But of course every one loves Scrat!
Over the summer, my family and I saw this movie, as we are die-hard fans of the Ice Age film franchise since the first film was released in 2002.Someone said that they thought teens would enjoy it, especially teens who will get what one of the main characters is going through, hooking up with a love interest, but adults will probably get an even bigger laugh from the antics the characters get into as well as the additional mileage from Peter Dinklage, Aziz Ansari, Kunal Nayyar, and Josh Gad. Diego gets a girlfriend, like Scrat did in the 3rd movie! Like before, the original actors reprise their roles, but like in chapters 2 and 3, we get some newcomers to the franchise:
*Peter Dinklage (from Game of Thrones and Elf) as Captain Gutt, the film's antagonist, he's a short actor, but his character is HUGE!
*Aziz Ansari (Tom Haverford, the Indian guy from NBC's Parks & Recreation) as Squint, 1 of Gutt's henchmen, the Rabbit
*Jennifer Lopez or J-Lo (Anaconda, Made in Manhattan, and former Idol judge) as Shira, another 1 of Gutt's henchmen, but became part of the Sub-Zero herd and eventually Diego's girlfriend (During this past season of Idol, 20th Century Fox heavily promoted this movie, in commercials and even her character makes a cameo during the show by coming into J-Lo's dressing room after Manny, Sid and Diego try to talk to her via phone referring to her by her character name.)
*Josh Gad (the Book of Mormon and F0X-T.V.'s Back to You) as Louis the Molehog, Peaches' best friend. He has a crush on Peaches.*Wanda Sykes (C.B.S.' The New Adventures of Old Christine, Evan Almighty and Over the Hedge) as Sid's washed-up old Grandmother
*Nick Frost (Spaced and Shaun of the Dead) as Flynn, the Dimwitted Elephant seal
*Rebel Wilson (Brynn from Bridesmaids) as Raz, a prehistoric marsupial (Kangaroo)
*Kunal Nayyar (Raj from CBS' the Big Bang Theory) as Gupta, a badger that acts as the pirate flag
*Drake or Aubrey Graham (Degrassi: TNG) as Ethan, Peaches' crush
*Keke Palmer (Nickelodeon's True Jackson, VP and Akeelah & The Bee) as Peaches, Manny & Ellie's teen daughter, who was born in the 3rd movie
*Nicki Minaj (future American Idol judge) and Heather Morris (Brittany from F0X-T.V.'s Glee) as Steffie and Katie, 2 of Ethan's friends.

In Ice Age: Continental Drift, Manny and Peaches
butt heads as Manny becomes over-protective of his daughter. In this feature,
we will offer some tips on how dads and daughters can spend some time together
and help create a stronger bond between the two, including going to the movies,
camping or creating a DIY project for mom.

Go to the Movies
The movies are a fun
outing for any day of the week. Choose a new movie that interests you both, or
check out a theater that plays classic family favorites. Depending on the time
of the movie, you can go to lunch, dinner, or dessert afterwards to talk about
your favorite characters.
Camping
Camping is a great
way to take a break from everyday distractions like texting and Facebook and
enjoy the great outdoors instead. It
provides the perfect opportunity to teach your daughter how to pitch a tent and
start a fire. Many campgrounds also offer great hiking trails and rentals of
canoes and paddleboats if near a lake.

Everyone has a
creative side and a DIY project is perfect for showing it off. You can try a
large project such as sprucing up an older piece of furniture. Or maybe try a
smaller project such as a plant holder for the back patio. Whatever you choose,
make sure mom approves and consider all safety precautions.
Day Trip to the Zoo

Even though the
chances of seeing a wooly mammoth are slim, the zoo is a perfect place to take
your daughter for quality bonding time. You can walk around in search of your
favorite animals or take a guided tour to learn new and interesting facts. Make
sure you bring a camera along so you and your daughter can take plenty of
photos with the monkeys!
Shopping… Dad’s Don’t Be Scared
A great way to bond
with your daughter is to let her roam in her natural habitat… the mall of
course! In order to keep things from getting out of hand, make the time about
picking out the perfect gift for mom or another relative. And to balance it
out, you can bring your daughter along the next time you are shopping for the
latest gadget or sporting equipment.
