@beecology What’s the Buzz with Beecology? #review #iLOVEhoney!~

 Sit back, relax and let me tell you.

I’d like to send you products to sample. Let me introduce myself. My name is Amy; I met my husband David in Yiddish class while attending The Ohio State University. We have been married for over 23 years. We have three teenage children, Molly, 21, Rachel, 20 and Nathan 17. We are a family of beekeepers who produce eco-friendly, natural bath and body products, including beeswax lip balm, sulfate-free, preservative-free shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We also manufacture three paraben free honey hand and body creams and moisturizing bar soaps. We can be found in about 150 stores in the US, Canada and online sites including, BeautySage.com We could not decide what to do with our excess bees wax; making candles was too mundane for us. We decided to try lip balm. After many attempts, we came up with a product we thought was great. We tested it on our family and friends; they agreed. That is where our company, Beecology started. Beecology offers products that we handicraft from natural, renewable ingredients for the body—inside and out. Product assortment currently includes, essential oil nourishing soaps, preservative free body wash, sulfate-free hair care products, antioxidants creams, raw natural honey and Buzz Balm, lip balm. When creating the business model for Beecology, there were two priorities. One was to create high quality, ecologically friendly products using completely natural and renewable ingredients. The other was to ensure charitable giving. We donate 10% of our net profits to our consumer’s charity of choice. Each supported product contains a charity code. After the purchase, consumers can visit Beecology’s charity web site, Sweetyear.org to enter the code and designate to which charity their percentage should be donated.

This is what the brand's founder emailed me. I was so impressed with the products idea before I got it. I got a nicely packaged box with a smorgasbord of products from them to sample and have been tweeting about them happily since. I am extremely passionate about the bee crisis and am pretty educated about it. Or at least I try to bee. *PUNNY!*

Anyway, I also know that honey is good for the body (inside & out!)

For instance:
 I know when you have a sick kid and you have to call military doctor and insurance care provider Tricare South's (& North actually) after hours line, when a nurse calls you back, one of the things they tell you to give a child with strep, a flu, or sinus, and cold's is HONEY!
   Back in old days, honey was used as a medicine for many ailments, and is still recommended by doctors and health care advocates alike.
       In ancient times in Egypt and in Africa (among other places), they use honey to treat and prevent as well. They actually worshiped the honey bee, and they werent wrong at all for it. The bee is NECESSARY to our life on earth.

 I am not a doctor, but you can find any article online nowadays saying basically the same thing.

  As I get older I find that the skin, our largest organ absorbs all the toxins (or good things) we put on our bodies and affect our quality of life. It would sicken you to know how many chemicals are in everyday products. It is a lot more widely known now, because of internet and technology.  These chemicals, we breathe them when we wipe our counters. We apply them to our hair to not just dye, but style- and wash and condition. It would be expensive to replace all of the products in our home, so I think moderation is key.   If honey is good for the body's insides, then it would be just as good for our outsides, right?

Back to the bees ... More people do need to start buying honey and honey products. Its only natural to finally combine more honey, bee pollen, and beeswax into not only our diets, but also our lotions and beauty products.

Moving onto the review, now that I have gone on & on  ... &  on!

Needless to say-- I was tickled to receive a yummy scented handsoap (Peppermint: $6.99) 2 fabulous bars of soap, one Dead Sea Mud (which I also LOVE to buy products that contain) and Tea Tree Oil bar of soap that I have been using for like body acne.

I love the soaps. LOVE LOVE LOVE! My fave is the tea tree oil soap. The brown dead sea mud bar tends to leave a ring on my tub!  I have to take a bath though!!!  (:
I love that these products are SLS free!

BUT of the products they sent, the shampoo and conditioner ($12.99 ea) were not only the most appreciated, but also my favorite products. My hair smells soooo good. I wish I knew how to describe the scent, but I can only say it's very good! Pleasant, and kinda strong. I can smell it on my hair as I sleep at night, and in the morning on my pillow. That might be bad for some.. but I love it because people tell me my hair smells good!  It's nothing short of a miracle too. My hair doesn't seem to "hold" the scent of really anything. Even body spray. So I was surprised that the scent would even stay. Delighted that I could still smell it. I keep grabbing my hair and sniffing it. I probably look silly. I am actually almost out of the shampoo so I do hope to buy some more soon. I love their products and definitely recommend you trying them for yourself. I think they would make a good gift for a birthday or even for Christmas for maybe a Mother-in-Law or an aunt. :-)
Heck- buy them for me!!!  LOL!  I wish you could buy a larger size of the shampoo & conditioner, that is my one suggestion. The sizes are a bit small for me with all this hair.

The winning product, in my humble opinion of the basketful of products I got was the Shampoo, beating out even the conditioner. They both smell alike, but the Shampoo has a leg up, it smells substantially better!!!  5/5 stars!!!

PS they have a new product too, since I was shipped mine Hot Chocolate soap, and a few more, but I bet the hemp soap is awesome too! I wasn't sent, but they also have lip balm, liquid body wash and hand & body cream.
