Have you ever dreamed of building a luxurious home on the Champs-Elysee, in the middle of Central Park or along the shore at Bondi Beach? Wherever your dream location may be, Hasbro is inviting MONOPOLY fans everywhere to build virtual mansions in locations around the world through the new MONOPOLY MILLIONARE online experience.
Logging in at http://mansions.monopoly.com/, players can try their hand at the world of luxury real estate by building and customizing virtual mansions. Similar to the new MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRE game from Hasbro, players upgrade their lifestyle as they progress through the experience and unlock blinged-out accessories. The online experience includes such fun and outlandish accessories as stadiums, planetariums, garden mazes and water slides.
The online experience is built on the Google Maps API and will allow for players to snap up properties around the world. However, it’s first come, first served when it comes to grabbing highly-desirable locations, so real estate moguls are advised to move quickly. For all of us would-be millionaires looking to build the perfect mansion in that prime location, whether virtually or in real life, luxury real estate mogul, Barbara Corcoran, has provided some additional tips to keep in mind:
- Building at the water’s edge is always a plus! Ocean, lake, or river, building next to a body of water immediately adds 30% more value to your mansion.
- A hot downtown with pricy shops, trendy restaurants, and nightlife plumps up the value of your home. Just make sure you build your mansion at least a half a mile away.
- Did George Washington or Napoleon stay there once? Or did a famous book or movie take place in the home? That gives you bragging rights. Historic fun facts always equal dollar signs!
- Don’t stray too far from an airport. Rich people like to jet off in their private planes, and being more than an hour away is a royal inconvenience. Mansion builders should always consider the proximity to air travel.
- Million dollar views are million dollar views for a reason. They’re worth millions!
In the online experience, players begin by choosing plots of land on which to build their mansions, adding accessories and inviting friends to visit their virtual homes. As players add accessories, answer trivia questions, share their mansions with friends, and invite them to join the experience, they are able to level up and unlock new mansion designs and accessories.
