Holiday Gift Guide for the Mom in your life. TommeeTippee Cups + Explora review!!

Anyone with a toddler knows and can totally relate to how annoying children's cups can be.
Although necessary, let's say even IF your child is not incredibly picky about them, there are still several other issues that can arise, including but not limited to:

  • Availability,
  • Design,
  • Price,
  • Quality,
  • Shape

and of course most importantly,    performance.

In all of these categories, Tommee Tippee excels!! A+!
You see, they sent me a ton of cups a few months ago. (See above?)
And so began my incredibly long (sorry about that Tommee Tippeee, btw) BUT ALSO thorough evaluation of them.
Here is our dilemma about cups.
Back in the day, Devonny would only take NUK cups.
Nuk cups she LOVED. BUT-- as much as she loved them, they had to go.
They were too expensive for 1 bottle. And although they are widely available, they never seem to be stocked. Apparently a popular choice in my area, anyway.

BUT-- they look like bottles. Which is a problem when your walking around with a toddler, it kinda looks bad. You don't want to be "that mom" that everyone judges, trust me.
Our Favorite cup is the cup on the middle top row there. That's the one I only got one of. It's called an Tommee Tippee Explora Water Bottle
As if that weren't bad enough, the Nuk's were a problem with us because she would bite the silicone nipples, causing them to spill horribly. Never-mind the fact of her ingesting pieces of them.
Plus, I could never find replacement nipples for the cups anywhere!!!

So, thus began a problem of owning about at least 70$ in NUK cups. How is that a problem? I had a very uneven percentage of cups vs nipples. She also liked to shove her fingers down into the soft nipples.. stretching out the holes, & I ended up with so much brown chocolate milk stains everywhere!!!

(Did I mention how picky she is? She only drinks chocolate milk.)

So when I discovered Tommee Tippee through my good friends, Jessie C & Courteney, they passed along the useful info needed to review the cups... And since they both loved theirs I figured I'd give these cups a try!!!

First of all, I was not expecting all the cups they would send! Good grief guys! Thanks so much!

You can probably buy Tommee Tippee at your local Target store. It's for sale at mine!

Back to the main features that a cup must have to be a good cup in our house! .... I was tickled when I discovered, in my reviewing of the cups, that Tommee Tippee covers all the areas I touched on at the beginning of this blog post.

Availability, widely available- easily for most countries (check yours now!) you can find them at Target, Toys R Us, Babies R Us!
Design, so cute. My favorite cups yet. They are subtle , yet easily matched with other colors. And the design is all about helping you, by growing with baby too! (Explora is TRULY spillproof, which is an issue I had with the cups before them.)

Plus + have you seen these cups? The designs are so cute, for the boys & the girls products. Their pacifiers too, being functional and cute together is enough for a recommendation from me!

Price? They are competitively priced with other cups, as far as cost goes... in most cases- less than other cups. Especially when you consider most of them are sold in sets of two for around 7$.

Quality ... they work exceptionally, better than expected in fact. I love that they're simple to snap together! Interchangeable with one another's lids and valves too.
Did I mention that they are completely dishwasher safe? I've found even the pieces innards of the cup are fine in the silverware basket of my dishwasher- which is pretty close the heating eye that heats and dries the dishes.
Shape is easily held and maneuvered by my child, who is 2 and has normal dexterity.

And of course most importantly, performance. They don't leak, and cant really be squeezed and jostled out of place. I have seen it happen on the rare occasion, but it was usually due to something I did wrong.
(IE: Forget to put it in at all, or insert it all the way.)

I didn't like the straw cups as much as the hard spout lids, but they were much loved by Miss Devonny. (All of them, actually! )

I am now training her to drink with kids lidless cups, since she is getting older. She's still to young to do just that though. And for those times when she is in my car, or watching a movie in the living room floor with a pillow.... I will always reach for one of these and I'm ever so grateful to the company for sending them to me!  :)

This concludes my review of the Tommee Tippee Cups. I love them, and will not switch! I will recommend this brand to all my friends and family, and I suggest you try them, as I know you'll love them too!

If you have a Mom with a young toddler on your holiday shopping list, you should do her a favor and buy her a bag full of these cups. It's a gift to her and her kid, and I'm sure both will appreciate the gesture.
