If you are a woman, chances are you have kids.. chances are you know prenatals can be an issue when your pregnant. It's EXTREMELY important to get enough vitamins BEFORE -- DURING -- and AFTER pregnancy.
There are a ton of bad things that can happen to your baby, such as anencephaly, if you do not have proper nutrition prior to getting pregnant.
Plus difficulties for the baby's health if you do not take them while you are pregnant, or a host of other issues...
Then lastly there's even issues to YOU-- if you do not get enough calcium when your pregnant, you can lose your teeth shortly thereafter. That's right.. they'll fall out in your 40's.. or before. It happens all the time.
I'm not a doctor, but this information is widely available online by doing a simple google search.. google "nutritional benefits of prenatal vitamins".
I'm getting a nice visual of that commercial (isn't it for insurance?) where the girl is saying, "Oh, you didn't know? Everything on the internet is true?" and she goes on a date with her "french model boyfriend" .. who isn't a french model at all. (See video below)
My point is, sure a lot of the stuff you read on the internet has only a grain of truth, or worse-- none!
All that aside, taking multi-vitamins during pregnancy is important. A lot of women don't take multi-vitamins everyday for a number of reasons..most of which I feel are extremely selfish I took a prenantal, a calcium chew (which left a GOD awful taste in my mouth most of the entire day..) and even DHA/Aha supplements..
The main concern I think about pregnant women is probably taste. But the pills can also be large...
When your pregnant, we all know- your sense of sex, smell, and taste are heightened so much!
I used to tell my husband I could smell someone grilling meat in the next town! A joke, but you know what I mean...
I could smell perfume rooms away. If you are pregnant, just know-- you can keep this heightened sense of smell for MONTHS after pregnancy... which enables you to smell dirty diapers from adjoining rooms in your house!
Premama is the PERFECT vitamin for pregnancy because it's tasteless and you mix this TINY packet into your drink and drink it.
I have been taking them.. and I'm not even pregnant!!!
I better not be....
