Schiffer Books : #book review #ya #holocaust A Promise Stitched in Time + #graphicNovel Dreary & Naughty Friday 13th Feb

This is post 2 of my Schiffer Christmas Gift guide of books to share with your children This year. If you missed my last post about their Victorian Doll house Kit and indie award winner Peanut and Bosco, read it now. This post will be about 2 more Schiffer books, Dreary & Naughty Friday the 13th February, and A Promse Stitched in Time.

Both books are by Schiffer Publishing and YA books, or aka Youth Adult books,  but that is where the similarities end.
This graphic novel is chilling and enticing and tells the story of even in the afterlife the guy still wants to get the girl. The book reads as a ghost flowing thru the window and flaps on the breeze sending chills down the readers spine in a rhyming poetic way.
I love the pictures in the novel and love its small size. It makes a perfect bathroom reader book. This would be a great gift for a budding teen but is little PG, so I say readers 11 to age 14 would most enjoy this book. Perfect gift for your teenager who loveable dark side! Buy it now on Amazon.

A Promise Stitched In Time

This book blew my socks off! What a page turner. I most liked the intrigue of the story the mystery and following the characters journey as she navigates her own fears and tribulations throughout this story. The young girl finds an old coat and finds it is haunted by a ghost! This sending her on an epic journey to discover more about this person while also, in the end learning air about herself. This story is appropriate in our opinion, for a reader aged 11 to 15.
She must ignite her muse to keep her promise to her father. We most loved her sidekick and supporting character : Taj. We want to hangout with him sometime!!!

DESCRIPTION  -

Promises can be hard to keep, but Maggie McConnell is determined to keep the promise she made to her father before he died. She must win a scholarship to a prestigious art program, but her grief gets in the way as she struggles to find her artistic vision. When Maggie purchases an old tweed coat as inspiration, she never guesses this fur-collared coat will forever change the way she views life and her place in it. The coat awakens her muse, but also awakens something else: Maggie believes its previous owner haunts the coat. Dreams and visions give way to clues from the past, and then a Holocaust victim's tattoo appears on her arm. With the help of a steampunk-dressing school outcast named Taj, Maggie must decipher what the ghost wants her to discover, and in the process find herself.

We recommend this book! 5 stars! Couldn't put it down. Love.holocaust stories since the first time I picked up The Diary of Anne Frank.
