I know quite a few ADHD children. At first, I thought my child might be, but I had not yet been to a doctor.
But how do you know the difference between spunky, energetic kid, typical kid behaviorial problems, or ADHD in children. Or A.D.D?
If you have questions about these, and other questions, such as: Lifescript’s Childhood ADHD Health Center features tips, quizzes, recipes and articles – all by professional health writers, experts and physicians – covering how to help your child succeed in school, advice for getting through the morning routine, how girls’ ADHD differs from boys’ and more.
Even identifying other broad areas, extending into teens with ADHD as well.
I found this website to be more than helpful in researching these and many other topics about ADHD. I spent several hours browsing the site reading up on and researching. I did find out that while my child isn't ADHD, if I find out she, or another child at a later date is, I will definitely be more educated about the issue and be ready to deal with it head on.
We are lucky to have such information at our fingertips in todays age we are able to handle common childhood problems.
What are your biggest challenges with having a child with ADHD? Is it the hyperactivity, inattentiveness, forgetfulness? I know that many of the common identifying factors, I do deal with in my little girl. I spoke to her 2nd grade teacher about it, and her teacher assured me that she is probably normal, and she doesnt seem to have a hard time sitting still or paying attention. Her teacher is no medical doctor, but she has experience with kids, as a teacher for 20+ years has seen numerous ADHD kids during those years. Her teacher assured me that shes probably hyper when she comes home from having to sit still at school most of the day. I found her take on it interesting, because I was getting very worried. For now- the issues don't seem to be worth the risks to medicate as to not medicate. So for now, I do not think she is ADHD. But I did find Lifescript.com helpful in learning about this medical condition.
I even learned that millions of children are afflicted with this condition. It is very common. You can use a variety of medications to treat it, and there is a ton of info on Lifescript.com about them and what to expect with dealing with them, such as adverse reactions and news about them. If you have questions, please check out the site now!
