OUR REVIEW
If you have young kids, then let me tell you (if you don't already know!) about the Nickelodeon show 'Yo Gabba Gabba !' The series features four brightly-colored monsters learning lessons about nutrition, hygiene and sharing - from each other and their good buddy Lance Rock, a live-action role played by a Los Angeles DJ in orange spandex and a wacky hat.
Devonny (my sweet almost 2 year old) loves Yo Gabba Gabba. She squeals excitedly, "Gabba! Gabba!", leaving out the Yo! I still remember the first time I flipped past it on Nick Jr, and thought, how strange. And it is! But strange speaks to children apparently, because most young children do love this show!
But you know what? One day, I was rocking her to sleep with it on, and I realized this show has a ton of helpful life lessons for your child. I know of one episode that talks of eating vegetables, cleaning up, going to the Doctor, Car Safety, among others. This disc has lessons about growing up and being "Big".

Yo Gabba Gabba is known to have Guest Appearances by many famous actors/actresses. Jason Batemen, who keeps his last name as his first name for the episode, "Super Spies" and is endearing to kids, even as the bad guy! If you don't know who he is, he is famous and has been in numerous movies- including but not limited to: The Change UP (which I loved him in!) however, he is best known for his role in Arrested Development. More movies you may know him from are: Couples Retreat, Horrible Bosses & The Ex, The Breakup, & Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
I love that Yo Gabba Gabba puts a lot of adult friendly characters into their episodes, it is more amusing to me to see someone I know from a very adult movie, such as The Change Up, being silly playing pretend with these funny Puppets.
With its catchy tunes, retro-style graphics, and lesson-teaching characters. The celebrities who have stopped by for a party in their tummies are very cool IMO. Its roster of unassailably cool guest roles has also included:
Recurring appearances by Devo member Mark Mothersbaugh and rapper Biz Markie are just the tip of the iceberg. 'Yo Gabba Gabba!' boasts guest spots by musicians like The Shins and Sean Kingston. Actors Jack Black and Elijah Wood have dropped by, "Weird Al" Yankovic and Weezer, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Paul Scheer, Anthony Bourdain , Mos Def, Fred Armisen, Erykah Badu, Flaming Lips, The Killers, Solange Knowles, Mix Master Mike, Angela Kinsey, and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
