Baby Gourmet - organic baby food Review + Win a Case! ***Closed!!!***

Devonny, Devonny, Devonny.. where do I start?
Devonny is my one year old little girl. {Pronounced Devon -nie.} She is uber picky and will NOT - I repeat: will not let you feed her by spoon. In fact- she hasn't since she was about 6 months old. That made mealtimes extremely difficult as you can imagine.
I had to get crafty and it seemed like she was eating the same old things over and over (and over).. And she was. I think she about turned into a Cheerio. She would eat solely just that- if i let her.. I think.
But then, one day- I handed her Giana's open applesauce pouch at the zoo, and realized I had hit pay dirt. I do a little research and pouched baby food is the newest thing. Wish someone would've told me six months ago! If it was around when Giana was a baby I was clueless to it. That was only 5 years ago.. but seems like forever!

Devonny really liked all of the baby food they sent out except for the Prune. The little bit she did eat, naturally made her bowels move with a quickness. I put it in the fridge with intent on using it later, if she was constipated. But she rarely is.. especially since she started whole milk a few months ago. I ended up tossing it. She is so funny though- she will squeeze the pouch and make it pour on her high chair and smear it with her hands when she is through. That- or throw it in the floor! Usually the latter.

Look at the yummy goodness they sent to Devonny!

  • 1 pouch of Orchard Apple, Carrot & Prune
  • 1 pouch of Juicy Pear & Garden Greens
  • 1 pouch of Harvest Pear, Pumpkin & Banana
  • 1 pouch of Baby’s Sweet Potato Pie
  • 1 pouch of Apple Sweet Potato Berry Swirl
  • 1 pouch of Roasted Squash & Fruit Medley
  • 1 pouch of Vanilla Banana berry Risotto
  • 1 pouch of Tropical Banana Bliss
  • 1 pouch of Old Fashioned Apple Crisp

I am i love with organic anything and these baby foods I can feel safe giving my sweet little baby!
Its 20$ for these 9 pouches in a combo/sampler but they have other varieties too. As well, they have other combinations all boxed/bundled for your convenience. This makes it so much easier, huh? They also have Simple Purees for smaller babies (6mo+) The Yummy Combo's that Devonny received are (7mo+) and the Tasty Textures for babies 8mo+.
I hope to let her try the Stage 3 textures soon. Possibly another review in the future perhaps? I am worried she might be picky about them, because with her you never know.

Also, I don't know if it is always.. or just now? But there is free shipping on these pouches.  So jump on that bandwagon. You know what's even better? They accept Paypal! (My favorite way to pay online!)

In any case, its great, because its easier for her to digest that, than what I was giving her.. and she is getting a wider variety of the rainbow of colors in her food that she should be. Babies need baby food. But if they don't want to eat it, (or in her case, be fed) what can you do? They don't have many teeth so they can't eat all the things we eat. As nice as it sounds I really do not have time to make baby food either.
We have tried all different brand's flavors at this point, and some she loves, and some she hates.. but these little food pouches are a lifesaver. Devonny just loves the Baby Gourmet pouches too!!

Baby Gourmet Launches in Retail Locations Across United States

Healthy meals are convenient for parents and delicious enough to satisfy the most discerning tastes of the family’s smallest members

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – (July 2011) – Baby Gourmet Foods Inc. is proud to announce that their new line of organic purees and home style meals will arrive in mass retailers across the USA by this September. Baby Gourmet’s meals are specifically designed to introduce babies to a diverse range of tastes and textures, while supplying optimum nutrition in a convenient 128mL pouch.

“One of the most important decisions a parent will make in the early years is how and what to feed their baby. At Baby Gourmet we make the task of healthy feeding easy and convenient.” says Jennifer Broe, president and co-founder of Baby Gourmet Foods Inc. “With high-profile issues such as childhood obesity and issues with BPA dominating headlines these days, we want to ensure babies receive the best start in life,” says Jennifer. “We develop our recipes as though every child eating the product is our own.”

The mom of two young children, Jennifer, understands the guilt & stress that can go hand-in-sticky-hand with raising a busy family. Baby Gourmet’s recipes, which are first developed in Jen’s own kitchen, are Jennifer’s way of showing parents they don’t have to compromise when purchasing store-bought food.

The idea for Baby Gourmet was formed when Jennifer began exploring baby food options on the shelves of her local supermarket. Dismayed by the fillers, additives, preservatives, and most of all, the lack of taste, she found in the food, Jennifer began to develop recipes that would allow infants to experience the same taste and nutrition the rest of the family enjoys. Jennifer began selling Baby Gourmet meals at The Calgary Farmers’ Market in Alberta in 2006, and have been successfully distributed across Canada in mass retailers since January of 2011.

Baby Gourmet has partnered with two respected nutritionists to ensure the food is as nutritionally beneficial for babies as possible.
Products are available for purchase online and will expand to include distribution in areas of the U.S. by September. For a complete product listing, visit www.babygourmet.com .
