3 month of Math Blaster Subscription #onlineKIDSgame FREE! Just place one comment w email address to enter!

Jumpstart is an educational game that I have reviewed before, and my daughter, Gigi (aged 7) loves it!
Jumpstart also has another really neat game, geared more towards Math and building math skills, called Math Blaster! Since 1987, Math Blaster has been loved by kids, parents and teachers.

Here’s some information from Math Blaster
Do you think you can tame a wild alien using your math skills? Jump on and play Alien Wrangler to beat the game! Well, Gigi has been playing it for a while, and she seems to really like it! We were so excited for Gigi to start her gifted/challenge program this month! What an accomplishment. Just becase she is already so smart, doesn't mean we should slow down at all. She's got all this intellectual build-up, bursting at the seams, and we should definitely encourage that momentum!

I love how easy it is for a child to navigate Jumpstart or MathBlaster. Giana much prefers JumpStart than Math Blaster, but she will play with both.

Here’s some information from Math Blaster

There are many places to explore once you launch the math game, most of which function similarly to arcade games. Blasters can build their math skills by visiting the Academy and the Job Board, and there are other fun games in the Space Port , as well. In our newest area, the Monster Mutt Rescue Dome, Blasters can adopt and raise their very own alien pet! Should you be interested, you can even take your pet along with you on your iOS mobile device with our latest app, Monster Mutt Rescue! It is completely free in the iTunes App Store and allows your kid to take their pet along with them wherever they go and to continue the learning and responsibilities that come along with raising a pet, alien or otherwise.

Another helpful resource to look at is the Game Guide. Here you can learn more about the amazing Math Blaster games and the curriculum taught in each area

MY Q & A about MathBlaster!
  • How do your kids interact with the game?

My child is an old-pro at this game, considering she's played it before! But, I know even if she hadn't it would be a breeze for her! The game is challenging enough without being too hard, easy enough- without being too easy! My daughter was very excited to get another gift membership! Thanks JumpStart & MathBlaster!

  • What is their favorite game or quest?

She likes training and raising their very own Monster mutt!

  • What is your take on kids using technology to learn?

I think it is a necessity of today's times. Children need to have strong supervision at younger ages. Technology is used more nowadays in the classroom than it was when I was  my daughters age  I think kids become a little too reliant (and adults, such as me, are very guilty of this too!) on technology as our sole source of entertainment  so I really think there's a fine line you have to walk, between too much, too little and just enough to really get the perfect balance.

Yes, I feel like these resources do come in handy, for when you are struggling to explain in kid-speak certain things, or having struggles with a certain topic, these can be become extremely useful indeed!

  3. Looks like a fun way to learn math. When I was a kid we had Math Munchers and I loved that game! I can't believe I haven't really given any thought to having my 7 year old play math games.
