Plow & Hearth - 75$ Gift Card giveaway 10/29

***CLOSED!!!***

The Plow & Hearth online store carries unique products for the Home, Garden, Yard, and Hearth. 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed. The Spirit of country living.

Plowhearth.com is an amazing website! When I first learned of an opportunity to do a review with
them I was ecstatic! It took me two days to pick an item under 75$! That's how big their selection is! In addition, its super easy to browse by area of interest and price. Here lately I have seen too many websites that do not have user friendly browse & search parameters. You cannot organize by price on some sites. So if you are looking for a birdhouse. you just type in "birdhouse" and organize by price. If say- your Mother wants one for her birthday but you might only have 40$ to spend.
Wooden Cape Cod Birdhouse with Real Pine Shake Shingles and Pole Set.  74.90 for the set!

Plow & Hearth has items not only for indoor & outdoors for your home & garden.. but as well clothes and accessories for your person! Shoes, and whatnot. My favorite item there was unfortunately over 75$ so not available for review... but I am seriously considering purchasing it. They carry two different cool touch electric space heaters that look like wood burning stoves. One is very tiny but heats 400 sq ft. It is available in white and black. It has safety features that will flip it off if need be. There is another one that is available for purchase for 150$ that comes in three colors: Red/brown, Hunter green, and Black. Honestly, I think the green is the prettiest! I have included a video and link and images to it below the review of the birdhouse I ordered!

So lets talk about what I picked out.
I chose the   Wooden Cape Cod Birdhouse with Real Pine Shake Shingles and Pole Set.  74.90 for the set!  I liked it because it is so fancy looking and I knew it would make a cute little addition to our yard! Our front yard has trees lining the sides, but none in plain sight. I appreciated that the birdhouse is available for purchase with a pole/pedestal that you can use to set it on! We planted two trees in our yard to offer some shade relief from this severe Georgia/Florida 9 month long summer.. (well- that's what I call it!) heat! We planted a Royal Empress which in not even 4 months is already some 15 ft tall. I also planted a peach tree when we moved here 2 years ago. Even though the Royal Empress is the fastest growing tree in the world.. its trunk is not yet ready for the birdhouse. But one day (sooner than I bet any of you realize) I will be able to put it on the tree. The peach tree will probably never be tall or thick enough for the birdhouse though.
My two baby trees!

My tree in June was a tiny baby- see?

The assembly.
The birdhouse arrived in pristine condition. A lot of larger items like this arrive damaged or the box damaged from other companies. The pole and house were packed in two boxes inside of another box. They were packaged so carefully with padding and foam I really don't see how they could have got broken.  And they didn't! Yay!

The hubby had a hard time getting the pole in the ground. It comes with a huge white "screw".... I am not a man.  I do not put things together so I do not know what it is called.
But he struggled with it and getting it level. Our yard is not very flat. He did say that the screws that come with it, are not long enough to hold it onto the pole, and he had to go buy some that would stabilize it and keep it permanently up.
I haven't seen any birds go in it though.
It's probably because I have it tooo close to the house. But it looked silly sitting in the middle of my yard all alone, so I made him move it closer to the garden. Perhaps they will use it in the spring? In any case.. it looks amazing. I love it and I couldn't be more pleased. It looks so expensive. I want to add that I think they price they ask for it (right under 75$) is more than reasonable.
