MANNA BREAD® is remarkably simple and wholesome, made entirely from sprouted organic grains, seeds, fruits & nuts. It contains no salt, leavening, yeast, oil, or sweeteners. By fully germinating our grains, we convert the starches into easily digested natural complex sugars, similar to those found in fresh fruits, hence the sweetness. The sprouts are ground and hand-shaped into loaves, baked at a low temperature, then packed and frozen to preserve shelf life, without any chemical additives

My thoughts on Manna Bread!
I have never eaten a bread like this before. This is more like a cake to me. A fruit cake consistency actually. This bread is extremely small loves, and extremely heavy. Very robust. All four breads were moist and kept refrigerated. They arrived on ice. I think my favorite was the Banana Walnut Hemp Manna Bread (click me!)
It was so healthy I could feel myself reversing in age like Benjamin Button!
No, but seriously. It was quite tasty, hearty and robust!
I sliced it thin as I could. (Its quite hard to slice by the way.) I made homemade french toast with it! I sliced bananas on it, and drizzled honey all over it! I "fry" my french toast in 100% olive oil. It was sooo yummy! The kids loved it and I felt great knowing I was providing my children with the best nutrition possible. I was super impressed with this bread from the start. I didn't know what to expect, I thought all bread was "bread" this is bread, but not in the typical sense you would expect. Its small, thick and heavy and kind-of hard. But that is not to say it doesn't taste good. Just different from what I am used to. The sour dough bread also has the same consistency that the Banana Walnut Hemp has. (They all do) The Fruit & Nut bread was Devonny's favorite. She is only one, but she was chowing down on it. But then, that baby loves any kind of bread anyhow. I knew she'd love it! The nuts are large but sliced thinly. The ingredients in the bread make it extremely moist and I recommend refrigeration, because as stated in this post, the bread doesn't have a very long shelf life outside of the fridge, because things that are not in it, preservatives, and whatnot. Which is actually a good thing. Maybe this is off subject, but I got to thinking about it one day, how we eat cakes that sit on the counter for days. Its pretty gross. All cakes are made with milk and eggs. Would you eat french toast that was coated with egg and sat on the counter for two days? It bothered me so much I got to googling it, and found that the sugars act as a preservative. As we are all aware, there is an enormous amount of sugar and especially corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup too in majority of our diets, the numbers on it in children are even worse and staggering. So I am glad this bread doesn't have those sugars and such in it, because its just gross. The obesity epidemic is nothing to laugh at!
There are some breads that do not have sugars, but this bread definitely doesn't. Its sweeteners are all natural and i love that it is organic. I am not organic to the core, where everything that comes into my household is organic. Unfortunately I cannot afford that. I still have not figured out why organic stuff is so much more expensive. Its the same food, just without chemicals. In that aspect you'd think it would cost less.
Back to the Sunny Sour Dough (changing subjects quickly, as usual) it was very small loaf, very dense. It has enormous chunks of Sun Flower seeds and Caraway seeds. I appreciated that it was pre-sliced. I love that it is high fiber. That is an essential part of our diets. I only wish I had tried the carrot raisin bread. I do not know how I missed that one! I love carrots. They are so good for you.
The Fig Fennel Flax. I know fennel seeds are VERY healthy, in fact, iI know they are also good for nursing. I wish I was aware of this bread while I was nursing. Instead I bought supplements from GNC of it. Not that I am nursing anymore - but I would have regarded knowing so.
