Yesteryear soaps makes fragrant unique organic soap!
Yesteryear soaps are unique in that they contain natural ingredients AND they are made the old fashioned way. I have troublesome skin. In the past, I was bothered by eczema, and as an adult, dry skin. Bar soaps usually dry my skin out worse. But I have always loved soap from a loaf. It just smells better, the smell lasts longer, and your skin feels softer. I will sometimes go out of my way to get soap from a Natural Foods store. I like Yesteryear soaps because it lathers richly and feels thick and moisturizing.
Some of my readers MAY have noticed a post on Facebook, or twitter or a direct email about a one day online party. The "party" will be this Saturday the 14th, anytime from sun up 'til midnight. PLEASE come by and BUY because not only will it give you a chance to try this amazing soap, but it will also benefit recent victims of April 27ths tornadoes. There was a LOT of devastation, and we need to bring some light and inspiration to these poor people who have lost everything. Please pass the link, and info along.

Usually when you write a review or tell your readers about a company or service, you are supposed to say it in your own words. However, in something as detailed as this, there really is no way to do that! I gave up! :) So... from their website:
What Makes YesterYear Soap "Natural" Soap?
"Natural soap means a soap whose ingredients are plant based, and we further define our product as an herbal soap. We oppose the body care industry's use of the word "natural" to include synthetic fragrances, colorants, and preservatives. We add no artificial substances to our soaps, such as synthetic fragrances, dyes, and preservatives, and where possible, we use organically grown products. Our purely herbal soap is scented with essential oils only and colored with organic herbs and plant extracts only. The soap base recipe is made from 100% certified organic oils. Our products contain no parabens. Read through our ingredient list to see what we mean by "natural soap." Then, to really see what we mean, take a copy of our ingredients with you next time you go to the store and compare them to the ingredients of soaps on the shelves. Your skin will know the difference."
Is it Really Organic?
"We make every bar with a minimum of 85% organic ingredients. Due to the chemistry of soap, it is almost impossible to go much higher than that. Within the natural products industry, there is a conversation taking place about whether soap can be technically defined as "organic" (since soap is the result of a chemical reaction and most of the original organic materials have been transformed). For our part, we commit to making soap using ONLY organic base oils and keeping our soap's ingredients above 85% organic. A soap's raw ingredients are either organic or they're not, regardless of the definitions, and YesterYear Soap commits to using certified organic oils."
What Makes Our Soap Better?
"A good bar soap balances bar hardness (durability), lather quality (both fluffiness and stability), and moisturizing ability. These different properties come from the different fatty acids that make up molecules of the organic vegetable oils we use as the base of our herbal soap. Unfortunately, the fatty acids that are moisturizing are not those that contribute much to lather quality, and the ones that make great lather are drying to our skin. A perfect bar soap is the result of carefully balancing the fatty acids to maximize the bar's hardness, lather quality, and moisturizing ability."
"We are now preserving the timeless craft of artisan soap making, similar to the way it was done 100 years ago. With our hand crafted soap you’ll enjoy its moisturizing, cleansing and soothing benefits- all natural soap without added chemicals, preservatives or synthetic fragrances."
Well said, Yesteryear! (I'm no soap expert, but it seems like great soap to me!)
Recommend?
YES! A MUST try! It should be one of Oprah's Favorite Things!
Room for improvement?
My only complaint is the shredded decorative paper, but i just don't like that stuff! :)
You really should know
Yesteryear has shipping free for orders over 100$, and a flat 5$ for orders under 100$!
Yesteryear has soaps to fit all budgets and all tastes. They have a Refreshing, Exotic and Bold. I would LOVE to try the Lemon Biscotti, Cool Fresh Aloe and After Midnight.
What I received?
I picked soaps from the Exotic collection.
Mississippi Mud.. - I do not know what Mississippi Mud is supposed to smell like, but I do like the fragrance of this soap. I cant quite put my finger on the notes. But it smells a little like mens soap, and my husband said it was his favorite.
Night Jasmine - The whole reason I picked from the Exotic collection. I love jasmine scented things. This is no exception. It is light but also lingering. I love a fragrance that you can smell later in the day on your skin.
Plumeria - Smells lovely! I like the appearance of it too, its marbled pink and white!
This online party, seems like a great idea to raise money. But I will only raise 10$ for orders between 50 and 100$ from Locomotion of Expressions. Of course, more
I only wish that it was a week long event, especially since it is to benefit such a great cause. so PLEASE please help me get the word out about this?
However if you would like to donate to this collection of money, you can leave a message at this voicemail number. Please note it collects voice-mail for me ONLY and is NOT a direct line to me, even though it "rings" 206-888-4290.
