what a tangled web we weave
i found this article in trying to assess what to do about my child being taught all year the things she already knows in kindergarten. in googling, we came upon this article
http://www.thelaboroflove.com/articles/our-child-is-too-advanced-for-kindergarten-what-can-we-do/
i have to say, i whole heartedly disagree w most everything that is said here!
the problem is yes socially she does need kindergarten, HOWEVER should she really do 26 days straight of learning a says ahh and b says ba and c says ka ... etc.. i mean, this is going to lead her to be unchallenged, bored and possibly labeled as a problem child or troublemaker- see, the school seems to be worried about only their "rules" they say, mrs byrd, we cannot test her until she has been enrolled for 20 consecutive SCHOOL DAYS, which equals to us 1 month later. y the rush. u might wonder, when she is going to be in school ALL year? well, i think they should do IMMEDIATE evaluations, per child, as to not waste anytime. they think the best a kindergartner SHOULD do, is see sally run, run sally run, when my child could probably read this whole blog to you.
iove even read some sites online that say, oh, do you really want your kid to be 15 when every1 else is 16 and driving and dating. ... ??? yea, bc one year is such a big deal?
http://www.thelaboroflove.com/articles/skipping-kindergarten-straight-to-first-grade/
this article (from the same website) is also incredibly biased and only looks at one side of issue. and even says, if they are smarter in k- they will b smarter later on as well, this is not true if you are not nurturing it, and wasting a whole year teaching what is already known to the child..... you have to encourage a child to be smarter not lazier!!!! excuse my capitalization please, i am in a rush to go to bed early to get my kindergartener off to school tomorrow to be treated like a dunce (yet again)..
g'nite!

If you would like us to review your product or conduct a giveaway with us, please e-mail davisc9333 (at) yahoo (dot) com. OR use the form below. Thanks!
Many times we also share products we love with our readers. They are truly items we come across that we like, and want others to know about. We will make the distinction between items we find and product reviews.
PLEASE see this post before submitting this form.

Welcome to Locomotion of Expressions! I like to help my readers find new interesting products that may help make their lives easier. My readers values my reviews as a way to gauge how a product, book or service will help them in their own daily lives.
I also am open to doing giveaways along with the reviews. Giveaways are a great way to create buzz about the product, book or service that you are trying to get word out about. They also allow me to reward my readers. Giveaways provide a win-win relationship that is beneficial to both me, to my readers, and to the company who manufactures the product. I do a lot of work when it comes to hosting giveaways so if I do not also receive a product in return I would like to be compensated. I spend quality time on each the giveaway post, promoting the giveaway and ending it. Sometimes it can take me up to 3 weeks to evaluate and get around to a post. Sometimes I have a very full review calendar and sometimes a very empty one. Reviews have been posted in as little as 3 days of receipt. Please understand however that a few things need to be clear at the get-go. if I have directed you to this post after an initial contact it is because you have not provided me with enough info. REVISED *1/23* I will NOT ask permission for things I post or say about your products. Nor will I email you for approval. If I were to do that- it would compromise the honestly I pride myself in sharing with my readers.
Information I will need:
Links and anchor text?
How long you prefer the giveaway to run? If no preference, please state so.
Countries winning prize will be shipped to?
Entry methods preferred.. IE: facebook likes.. questions.. twitter follows.. etc. ?
Winning prize arv value (shipping costs also considered with this number)?
Will there be any obligation of shipping costs for the entrants?
Please let me know if you want info to be strictly provided by you, like a press release - or my opinions only.
Please direct me if you want an interview with the review as well.. what questions or form you want the interview to shape.
Please know I am not a mind reader. The terms of the review need to be laid out before shipment please.

Also please promote it via your company facebook wall. I've found there are more click throughs from Facebook when the company posts, it shows up in fans news feed, vs when I post to your facebook, one will only see it if they go to your page and scroll. Even still most companies facebook have their walls default settings to show only their posts to visitors, unless visitors click "most recent", they wouldnt even notice the link I post. Perhaps you already know this, just thought I'd share just in case
*******************************************************
Reviewing and Sponsoring Giveaways Guidelines: I love to review various products that are in the market. I will provide my honest opinion when trying out a product, so samples provided are non-returnable. I feel this is the only way to give a full and honest review to our readers. When sponsoring a giveaway, I do require that my sponsor ship directly to the winners.
There are some fees associated with Reviews and Giveaways:
- Reviews and Giveaways -requires a full size non-returnable item for review
- Review only -requires a full size non-returnable item for review
- Giveaway only -contact us for details
- Promotional post - contact us for details.
- Featured Post- contact us for details
Before I post the review I must have time to test out the product before I review to make sure that I feel comfortable sharing the product with my readers. If for some reason I receive a product and truly feel that it is not something that would be beneficial to my readers, I will share that opinion with them, constructively, and point out that it is only my opinion, its weak spots, and it's strong points..
I will also be looking for your response to the post. I will email you a link- and I will need you to reply back as soon as you get the link, that all the links, anchor text and information is correct. (I am only human) I need to know you saw it as well... More importantly than that though, is a response that the winner (in the case of a giveaway) information was received. Also an email that it was shipped.. when it is..
In addition - it is helpful for the sponsor (you) to post a link to the post on your social networks. I usually do, but sometimes don't have time and/or might forget. Even when I am the poster though, it won't show up on your fans' news feed unless you post it there. They only see mine, if they happen to visit your page (and they might not.)

Advertising: We are always open to accepting paid advertising on our blog such as banners, 125×125 buttons, and Text Links. Don’t see your ad size, feel free to contact us for more information and a quote.

If you think that you have a product, book, or service that would be enjoyable to me and to the people who read Locomotion of Expressions, please do not hesitate to contact me via the email listed above. For your convenience you can also use the contact form above.
PLEASE NOTE: Providing a product for review does not automatically guarantee that your product will be published on Locomotion of Expressions. As a general rule of thumb, and I hate to say this- but blogging is extremely time consuming:
(Please do not mail me something of extremely low value... I had a company who makes bows- send me one bow.. this might not offend other bloggers.. but it did bother me)
Also- this is not written in stone, But the more expensive the item is.. the more words are in the post. A 150-250 word post is equivalent to a 10$ arv review. Giveaway terms/instructions are not counted; only the review paragraph.
20-40$ arv = 400 words
50-60$ arv = 450 words
70-80$ arv = 500 words
80-90$ arv = 550 words
90-100$ arv = 600 words
100-200$ arv = 650 words
200-400$ arv = 700 words
400-600$ arv = 750 words
600 -800$ arv = 800 words
$800-$1000+ arv = 900+ words. (This post has 920 words, to give you a roundabout idea of length.)
This is not always the case, but more of an average of what to expect.
Usually it will go over.... Sometimes if I am really excited about a great product, I will go on and on. You never can tell.

What tips, tricks or strategies do you suggest to make sure kids to embrace summer reading?
My lil girl is only five. Yet reads on a 3rd grade level. I taught her how to read! We started off w Flash Cards w ABC's on them. and then we moved up to tracing letters. Then, we moved on to a set of 5 dvds by leapfrog, phonics, learn to read at the letter factory, etc, etc. the songs and bright colors are so captivating to at toddler than she became immersed in the movies and would watch them up to 4 or 5x a day! It was long at all before she4 was reading her board book, and w positive reinforcement and encouragement from me, moved on to much bigger and better books, she doesn't yet read chapter books, and hasnt started kindergarten yet, but will be in a few months, but for a child who has never even been in daycare, I'm so proud of her! (...and me too!)

Everybody loves... BABIES. Coming to theatres this Mother's Day Weekend (May 7th), this visually stunning new movie simultaneously follows four babies around the world - from first breath to first steps. From Mongolia to Namibia to San Francisco to Tokyo, BABIES joyfully captures on film the earliest stages of the journey of humanity that are at once unique and universal to us all.

The adventure of a lifetime begins…
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Thomas Balmès, from an original idea by producer Alain Chabat, Babies simultaneously follows four babies around the world – from birth to first steps. The children are, respectively, in order of on-screen introduction: Ponijao, who lives with her family near Opuwo, Namibia; Bayarjargal, who resides with his family in Mongolia, near Bayanchandmani; Mari, who lives with her family in Tokyo, Japan; and Hattie, who resides with her family in the United States, in San Francisco.
Re-defining the nonfiction art form, Babies joyfully captures on film the earliest stages of the journey of humanity that are at once unique and universal to us all.
A Focus Features presentation of a Chez Wam/StudioCanal co-production with the participation of Canal +. Babies. Executive Producers, TBC Productions, Chez Wam. Original Idea, Alain Chabat. Adapted by Thomas Balmès. Edited by Craig McKay, A.C.E., Reynald Bertrand. Produced by Alain Chabat, Amandine Billot, Christine Rouxel. Music by Bruno Coulais. Directed by Thomas Balmès. A Focus Features Release.

Ponijao lives in Namibia with her family, including her parents and eight older brothers and sisters. Ponijao’s family is part of the Himba tribe, and lives in a small village with other families, following traditions including speaking their own (Himba) language. The men in the Himba tribe are generally off looking after the cattle and searching for grass, so Ponijao is most often with her mother and other female relatives; she plays, eats, and is bathed through the traditional method of mixing concrete red ochre with oil. Ponijao’s favorite things to do are dance and play with other children in the tribe.

the submariners wifes life
I talkd2the ombudsman 4noahs sub for 30min, cried my heart out, obv2no avail. Noah said that he got told when he arrived back frm lunch not 2 let me talk him n2 "doin anything stupid" is that all she got from our conversation? :o ty for the help. Im sure they're really goin2b willing to let him off the sub now. Some1 needs2raise awareness that this is a problem-if it has2b me, then so b it. They shouldn't tell the submariners they will be allowed 2b present for the birth of their 1st child, n then tell noah when time comes. "Ur wife has our support groups. She should understand the lifestyle." If some1 needs2kick up dust-then let it b me. I'm not afraid of any1-this is my family. My family is much more important. How can they say no, without even trying2find a replacement4him from some other sub that will b n off crew? It shouldn't b "silently tolerated" I have a voice, I will use it. How many women for how many years have suffered this b4 me? I have already had a child by myself ty. Just bc other women have tolerated it, I'm supposed to? Its BC other women have tolerated it that I shouldn't have to. This is 2010-not 1900-were talking about a 3mo deployment- that's it. re-enlistment might b easier if they cared about the sailors. Seems to me, they don't. I know we'd be willing to pay up to 600$ to have some1 take his spot. If he had some help finding that some1-itd b easier. If they can't find some1 to take his spot, then they should pull the weight for him. So he can b w us. U can redo xmas n birthdays. I can't re-push a child out. Its supposed 2b a "tight knit" community, doesn't seem very much like it to me, when some1 is in need, do u turn ur back, or help? Especially if I am the only pregnant wife whose baby should be delivered DURING this deployment. If noah were to fall ill, would the sub just not go out? NO! They'd go w out him. As they should this time. Their should b exceptions made for pregnancy. Its not something any1 woman should have2endure alone, bc of military, talk about how ppl respect the military service members? By god! PROVE IT!
if something happes and his is et off. then great lovely. i couldnt ask for more ill print these words and literally EAT them. but we all know it isnt goin2happen.
