Unique artwork by Jason Ratliff #walkingShadow is #rightUPmyalley!

Meet artist Jason Ratliff! One of my faves. His lines include Walking Shadow and Float. Which are pretty self explanatory. I found his artwork featured on Fancy and immediately fell in love with the Superman Print.  What I didn't know is there is also a feminine version of it with Superwoman & a little girl. I wanted to buy it for Rowan so bad. I got it! And It looks fabulous in his room.

You can find his art on Curioos and also on his site: Jason-ratliff.com his artwork averages about 20 for a small print to 200 for GIANT prints, plus you can get them on canvas as well. Not only can you get them on acid free paper and canvas or even just framed, but also on a aluminum and acrylic glass print too. I think his artwork is a perfect gift for a gal like me who can be really hard to shop for! Not only is it detailed and unique but affordable and remarkable. I have had countless comments and compliments on this artwork since I hung it in my house.

Really, we are more of batman people, so I probably should have reviewed the batman artwork instead. Check it out!

I love that all the mosaic prints are original and there is also a TMNT print!!! My print is 28x20 and retails 140 on Curioos. The best part is: you can sign up for their newsletter and get a 10% discount usually. Also try searching the web for other sales and discounts for this artist and sites he uses.

The name of my print is WALKING SHADOW: HERO - the feminine version feat Superwoman is called Walking Shadow: Heroine.

He has another line I'm digging on too called FLOAT.

I want to thank him SO MUCH for sending us this print. I am eternally grateful and will be purchasing some more of his artwork very soon!  I suggest you do too! Throw Pillows, Laptop skins, Tshirts and iPhone cases featuring his artwork can also be found on Society6. The link is found on his personal webpage top right corner where it says "SHOP".
Jason Ratliff is from Indianapolis, INDIANA. Designer by trade, artist by heart. He aims to create works that charm. Playful explorations of mixing intricate illustrations of the mundane with smacks of lively bright color that breathe life.

#kissable! CandyLipz: The Pouty Lips You Always Wanted. Naturally #blogReview

Thanks for reading my review of Candylipz.com. This is the cutest neatest product I have seen in awhile. I am all about all natural products. I have been trying to build my blog back up, because I haven't blogged in a year. So I have been accepting neat reviews that are pitched to me, or come my way. When this one came across my email I immediately thought of the "Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge" which I've heard is basically the same thing except done with a coke bottle? When originally pitched, I accepted without really reading. It said "lip plumper" so I automatically assumed some spicy gloss, usually the contain cayenne pepper or capsaicin- which is also used for arthritis relief. Usually lip plumpers contain these pepper juices because- well they DO make your lips swell. But only when you are using them. Which is about as painful as it sounds.. and results don't last long.
This product however is not what I expected. When I pulled it out of the gorgeously presented box, I felt like Snow White! I twisted it apart and the bottom came off and I'm looking at it like.. ok this is the bottom part of the container holding the gloss... and kept twisting and pulling at the top of the apple to get to the "gloss" I finally gave up. Luckily it withstood all that twisting and pulling, so that's good!

Once I read the booklet inside the box I then found that this product does something similar to what I used to do in the bathtub as a child.  See, we always had a rinse cup sitting on the edge of the tub. As a small child I would pick up the cup- place it around my mouth and under my chin, and suck the air out of the cup till it was plied onto my face.  This is the same thing and DOES WORK; albeit temporarily. There are a TON of reviews and informational videos about this and all their other many products online.
There is no gloss at all in the apple. It is designed for you to put your lips into the bottom of the apple and suck the air out. This is how it plumps your lips.

MD MOMS - #babyMustHaves #blogReview made by Pediatricians

I do it for baby Rowan!

Give baby's skin the healthiest start! Our reusable BPA-free, phthalate-free zip top bag is filled with full sizes of baby's indispensable daily basics: Gentle All-Over Clean Hair & Body Wash, Daily Skin Protection Moisturizing Balm, Soothing Bottom Relief Diaper Rash Cream and a travel pack of Gentle All-Over Clean Cleansing Towelettes. The perfect starter set or shower gift!
MD MOMS Baby Silk Baby Basics Starter Set includes:
Gentle All-Over Clean Hair & Body Wash (6.8 oz. / 200 ml)
Daily Skin Protection Moisturizing Balm (6.8 oz. / 200 ml)
Soothing Bottom Relief Diaper Rash Cream (3 oz. / 85 g)
Gentle All-Over Clean Cleansing Towelettes (12 ct)
-This set I received would be PERFECT for a baby shower or the expecting woman in your life. Or be a great hospital gift for the new mom, when you visit the new baby!  This set retails for 50 arv and is fabulous!!!!
I was trying to get pictures of the items when they arrived and Rowan was tripping trying to take them from me! He was so excited!!!

I gave him the wipes bc he was so determined!

True Happy Baby loves his MD Mom set!
This cream is perfect and safe and I use it at every diaper change on his precious bottom!  We are loving it. If diaper rash cream is not your thing, then try their liquid baby powder instead.
These are great because you can use them on any part of the body and they are great for wiping messy food off baby to head out to do errand quickly, small enough to throw in the purse to travel with you. Did I mention they smell great, but light? They also have sunscreen wipes!
This after-bath lotion was my favorite because it makes Rowan so touchably soft!
Conditions that their line can treat:

  • Dry Sensitive Skin
  • Eczema
  • Cradle Cap
  • Psoriasis
  • Treat and Prevent Diaper Rash

Haha @ Rowan in the background... I love this BabySilk line!

I think we found a winner!

He's so cute...but I love that I can trust these products as they are made by Doctors for their own babies. What a cute idea!

Founded in 2006, MD MOMS is the first, and only personal care line for babies developed by pediatrician-moms. MD MOMS products are clinically tested, hypoallergenic, naturally based and specifically formulated with the unique needs of a newborn and sensitive skin in mind.

The range includes, hair and body wash, moisturizers, wipes, diaper rash and cradle cap remedies as well as award-winning sunscreen. Products in the line that are suited for eczema prone skin have been recognized and Accepted by the National Eczema Association, a distinction that sets the brand apart from competitors in the premium baby skincare space.

Meanwhile in Alabama: A cause close to my heart.

First things first.
We all make mistakes and most of us have been in trouble with the law at some point in our lives for something. No one is perfect.
My beautiful fiance was locked up in August due to a traffic ticket he got years ago, and never paid. Granted he should have taken care of it. But it is really worth six months of his life because he didn't have the grand to take care of the fines?

Blount County Alabama This year. He was locked up and given 180 days when our son was six months old. He has missed him learning to crawl. Missed his first babbles, will miss his first Halloween, and probable Christmas too and quite possibly learning to walk, since Rowan is cruising along quite bravely and nicely now.
It's sad but there not much I can do, short of getting a lawyer, which I don't have the money myself for, since I am raising the baby; now- without help.
Plus + seems to me a risky gamble to put out 300-600+ for a lawyer for a CHANCE to get him out of jail. Seems the money would be better put on his fines. But so I've heard, even if the fine is paid in full, they have no plans to release him until FEB/MARCH NEXT YEAR.
Meanwhile his ex is writing him letters in jail, and if she keeps mentioning me & my child in them I'll be right there in jail alongside him...

I'm just saying.
Anyway- so when I saw this DOC short, it was a cause close to my heart that I thought I'd share.
Really pisses me off how money can buy you everything. I got even more mad this weekend when 20/20 aired their "Affluenza" defense special about a teen who killed 4 and injured 14 driving drunk and got a light slap on the wrist got out of all jail time and went to a ritzy "rehab" instead, simply because his parents are (billionaires?) or millionaires.

NuSkin #blogReview #faceMask

Week Before using Mask
NuSkin Face Lift Activator + Powder = Amazing MASK

Thanks for reading my blog review for Nuskin! This blog post is sponsored, meaning they sent me the product for free. Regardless all opinions & experiences are my own and yours may differ. Now that that part is out of the way..

What did I think about the product????

Let's start with the price: AFFORDABLE!!  A+
The Facelift powder & activator liquid are under 35$ and come with both bottles that you need to make the mask. Whats better is, since its in 2 parts, you can mix it to a consistency you like.

Upon mixing it up, I gotta admit, I felt like a mad scientist. It mixed easy, no lumps, and had a consistency like pancake batter. It spread well and dried fairly quickly. Which I appreciated since I don't like a mask that takes too long to dry. It felt so tight on my skin, that if I talked with it on it would crack! It was a strange feeling, but it let me know it was working.

JOIN THE TEAL PUMPKIN PROJECT FOR AN ALLERGY-FREE HALLOWEEN

Choose Big Buckets of Monsters and Zombies for a Healthy Halloween Handout

Halloween is creeping around the corner and kids are gearing up to trick-or-treat. With this spook-tacular holiday comes the thrill of dressing up and collecting treats at every door. But for the 6 million children with food allergies, collecting candy is a dangerous risk. Kids affected by allergies must rifle through buckets of candy, searching for treats that they’re able to enjoy. Those with severe allergies can’t even consume candy that so much as touches an allergen.

Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) is encouraging families to participate in a new Halloween tradition: The Teal Pumpkin Project. This national campaign encourages parents to offer non-food treats for children with food allergies. Participants will mark their intent by placing a teal-colored pumpkin in their yard, informing trick-or-treaters they have non-food Halloween handouts.

Stop letting big buckets of Halloween candy haunt your home…Offer trick-or-treaters a safe and healthy treat that lasts… Big Buckets of Monsters and Zombies!

Each Big Bucket comes with 100 assorted spooky action figures- including zombies, gravestones, humans, werewolves, and even Frankenstein! With over a dozen unique sculpts... down to the poses!

Vinny Vitos in Moody Alabama

Delicious Italian food, sandwiches and cal-zones and salads. The pizzas; especially the appetizers are scrumptious. Also love the dessert menu, mainly because of the Tiramisu.

In addition the decor is calming and inviting and I am impressed with the lunch specials as well. They have great drink specials all the time, just like their facebook page: Vinny-Vitos-Moody & peep their menu here.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I love that isn't a big chain corporation. There are too many of those and far too few of these.

Today I had a spinach and alfredo chicken calzone for 9.99 that came with salad, it was so big I couldn't finish but half of it.

So if you live in the Birmingham area, you should definitely try this place on for size!
Minutes from I20.

Plus say "Roll Tide" or "War Eagle" today and get 5$ off an order of 25 or more.
Call in for pick up, or better yet: Dine in tonight.

New York style Italian and steaks!

In 1942 Vincent Vitonelli left Brooklyn to serve as a Marine during WWII. As a Marine cook, he discovered that his family's meat sauce recipe was a big hit with his fellow Marines. Vinny never opened a restaurant, but his grandson did. A 20-year background in French and Italian cuisine has shaped the menu of freshly prepared Italian pasta dishes, authentic pizzas, and incredible steaks worthy of his grandfather's name.
From the lasagna, the lobster ravioli, made-to-order calzones, to the hand-cut ribeyes, you are sure to taste the fresh, homemade touch that goes into each entrée. Fried artichoke hearts, eggplant Parmesan, and red velvet cheesecake are just some of the favorites at Vinny Vito's New York Italian and Steaks.

FOOD DAY inspires Americans to change their diets and our food policies through more than 8,000 events nationwide

Screening at EatingWell.com From October 5-12 ahead of Nationwide Release; Entire Film Available for Screening Online at Media Sites Upon Request
WASHINGTON, DC – Every October 24, thousands of events all around the country bring Americans together to celebrate and enjoy real food and to push for improved food policies. This year Food Day is partnering with award-winning filmmaker, designer and philanthropist Susan Rockefeller to release her acclaimed new documentary Food For Thought, Food For Life for free online and in conjunction with thousands of events nationwide.
The mission of the 20-minute film – which was an official selection at the Short Film Corner at Cannes 2015 and at the 2015 Sarasota Film Festival and other top festivals – and its extensive nationwide outreach campaign is to start a conversation about the food system, bringing everyone to the table to address how we think about, produce, and choose what we eat, and to make lasting changes as individuals, communities, and for our earth as a whole.
“We are thrilled to partner with Susan Rockefeller on the online release of this remarkable film,” said Food Day campaign manager Lilia Smelkova. “By providing our partners at over 8,000 events nationwide with access to the film we can ensure Food Day will impact in even greater ways in 2015. This film is inspiring and will serve to energize those who will be participating in Food Day events across the country.”
“It’s an honor to partner with Food Day and to play a role in helping reach millions about the food issues that affect each one of us,” said Susan Rockefeller.
ABOUT THE FILM
We want our food fast, convenient and cheap, but at what cost? As farms have become supersized, our environment suffers and so does the quality of our food. Food for Thought, Food for Life, a new documentary from director Susan Rockefeller (HBO’s Christopher Award-winning documentary Making The Crooked Straight, Planet Green’s A Sea Change) explains the downsides of current agribusiness practices, and also introduces us to farmers, chefs, researchers, educators, and advocates who are providing solutions. The film is both poetic and practical; its powerful examination of the connections between our planet and our well-being is accompanied by specific strategies that protect both. With an eye towards a sustainable and abundant future, it offers inspiration for communities that are ready to make a difference.
Punctuated by the words of environmentalist Wendell Berry, earth-inspired artwork, and uplifting music, the film highlights organizations and people doing things right. From the forward-thinking practices of Chef Dan Barber and Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture to guerrilla gardener Ron Finley’s transformation of urban neighborhoods, the ways we can start a revolution are varied and exciting.
“I sought out to develop a film that educates people about the negative impact our current methods of agriculture have on the earth,” said Rockefeller, a creative conservationist and social entrepreneur. “In addition to providing vital information, the film gives viewers the necessary tools to make a difference in their own lives. It explores the connection between the planet and our health and suggests that strengthening that connection will only benefit our future.”
“In everything I do – from my previous documentary Mission of Mermaids to my jewelry collections – my goal is to start a conversation about the things I’m most passionate about and empower people to take small actions that produce big changes,” Rockefeller continued. “Conversation leads to collaboration, and together we can find local and global solutions that help the planet and ourselves. Food Day is the perfect partner in our work to bring attention to these vitally important issues.”
